LEARNING APPROACH
Teaching combines lectures, seminars, studio-based workshops and guided creative practice. Students develop their musicianship through songwriting, performance, recording and arranging while engaging with theological study, reflection and discussion.
Alongside core music and theology modules, students participate in practical creative workshops including music production, video production and photography, equipping them with broader media and communication skills relevant to contemporary creative ministry and professional practice.
Academic Structure & Study Commitment
The programme is delivered across a structured 30-week academic year comprising two semesters of in-person teaching and dedicated assessment periods.
Students attend 15 hours of scheduled music and theology teaching per week during teaching terms. In addition, structured independent study forms a core part of the programme and may include rehearsal, composition, production work, theological reading, research and written assignments.
Total weekly commitment aligns with full-time Level 4 study expectations of approximately 40 hours.
Learning is supported through our Moodle virtual learning environment, providing structured modules, teaching resources, studio demonstrations and guided theological study materials.
Students also gain practical experience through live performance opportunities, studio recording projects, and collaborative creative work.
