why King’s Academy of education exists
King’s Academy of Education was founded in response to a growing concern that further and higher education has become increasingly shaped by scale, efficiency, and income generation rather than by the formation and flourishing of students.
Across the sector, rising costs, expanding class sizes, and lowered expectations have too often resulted in an experience that is transactional rather than transformative. Students are recruited in large numbers but known by few. Teaching becomes delivery. Care becomes compliance.
We believed there was another way.
King’s Academy of Education exists to offer an alternative: academically rigorous, pastorally attentive education delivered within small learning communities where students are known, challenged, and supported to grow.
We chose to build provision that is:
Student-centred rather than volume-driven
Academically serious rather than credentials-focused
Accessible without lowering standards
Pastorally supportive without compromising integrity
Our programmes at Levels 4, 5, and 6 are fully accredited and externally validated where appropriate. They are intentionally structured to provide clear progression into employment, ministry, or further study, while remaining financially realistic for students.
Within our theology provision, we exist to form students who are biblically grounded, theologically literate, and vocationally equipped to serve faithfully within the life of the Church and the wider public sphere.
We do not exist to be the largest provider.
We exist to be an excellent one.
Education, we believe, should shape lives — not simply process people.
